Group Booking FAQs
What size of group can come to Luminaria?
Groups of various sizes can be accommodated. However, for safety, there is a limited capacity of attendees permitted at any one time, and staggered entry times may be required for larger groups. Our booking team can provide you with more information, based on your group size and when you want to come.
Can we have a spot set aside for our group to meet?
With safety top-of-mind, and following the guidelines of health officials, we are not able to allocate spaces for groups to congregate. The idea is that guests can stroll through the garden, enjoy the sights and sounds, wave at their colleagues as they pass, and perhaps pause for a brief (safely-distanced) chit chat with their friends around a firepit before moving on. This way, everybody has an enjoyable, shared experience, and everybody stays safe.
Are there discounts for group bookings?
Group bookings of more than 30 are eligible for a discount of 15% off the adult ticket price for weeknight bookings (Mon-Thu). Community service organizations and charities: Please contact us for discount information
Can I book the Garden exclusively for my group during Luminaria?
Subject to availability, you can purchase a time slot, or several time slots, for the exclusive use of your group. Maximum capacities and staggered entry times will be in effect.
Are there shuttles available?
There is no shuttle service this year. A vehicle is required to get to the Garden. Parking is free.
What is the cancellation policy?
Luminaria is an outdoor event, subject to varying weather conditions. Tickets are non-refundable. In the event of extreme or unsafe weather conditions, if the Garden cancels the event we will post the information on our website and notify that evening’s guests by email, along with instructions for re-scheduling.
What safety measures is the Garden following?
University of Alberta vaccine policies for visitors are in place. In regular consultation with health officials, the Garden is following recommended safety guidelines. These measures include closure of indoor spaces (except washrooms), limited capacity, staggered entry times, and extra cleaning. Masks are not required outdoors, but must be worn in all indoor spaces (eg. washrooms and hallways).
